I tried dosbox once and it didn't work with speech at all.  I also tried
4nt from jp software who also puts out 4dos and althouth it speaks, they
use direct screen writes and you can't turn on bios writes as you can in
4dos.  So, althouth it isn't really supported, I use 4dos under xp and so
far everything works like it did in old dos.  Only problem I've had is
readit doesn't like the fast machine at all.  I sure do love that program.
