Amen to the TS-940S!! 

My advice is: 
If you can grab one that's in grate shape and for a good price, 
go for it.  I love mine.    It blows the 570 out of the water.  At least that's what my regular contacts tell me who have heard me on a 570. 
On the other hand, I did enjoy the one I had and it was a good performer and blind friendly with its VS-3 if you leave it alone.  
My 940 should give me a few years yet until I retire her and then hopefully the Yaesu FTDX9000 200W model will be waiting in the wings! <HI>
