James,
I'd recommend the Fujitsu Scanpartner 15C. It's a SCSI scanner, costs
$750 and meets your requirements. Thanks.

Subject: scanner recommendations
I am going to get a new medium duty scanner for our alt text services. The
Canon scanners are a bit too costly. I'm hoping to keep it at $1000 or
less and I need flat-bed as well as ADF capability. We work with Omnipage,
WYNN and Kurzweil 3000. Any suggestions? - Thanks, James
