In a letter dated Nov. 3, 2003, Alan Johnson of Zachary states, "...the
majority of our candies are gluten free, however we do have an minor
ingredient that is used on all of our polisehd panned products (i.e.
Chocolate Covered Raisins, Bridge Mix, etc.) that does contain a small
amount of gluten- approximately 50 parts per million. With this being used
directly on some of our products and in the building there is a high
probability that there will be cross contact with containers and equpiment
used to store, manufacture and process our candy. So unfortunately I
cannot guarantee one hundred percent that even though our candies do not
contain any ingredients that contain gluten, that this product had not come
in contact with items that have or did have it."
