Well, this should certainly go down in history as
one of the greatest 12 months ever for celiac
awareness and action.
The latest:
A Bill has been introduced in Congress declaring
May as National Celiac Awareness month!
Why May you say? ( I feel like Dr Seuss! )
- May is National Digestive Diseases Awareness Month
- May is National Osteoporosis Awareness and
Prevention Month
- May is Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month
- May 10 - 16 is Food Allergy Awareness Week
All issues near and dear to us celiacs. And last, but
not least:
- Many countries around the world have celiac related,
national events in May. Adding our voices to that
makes May the international celiac awareness
month!
So, to
- all that shared their stories in newspapers, radio
programs and TV news spots,
- all responsible for the over 15,000 letters to
Congress in support of the food labeling bill,
- all that participated in Celiac Walks to raise money
- and to great food companies like Philly-Swirl that
are donating profits to celiac research
take a well deserved bow!
Regards ...
