Hi all,

Because of my vision, I miss the fine details of life. I see fairly good
with 20/400 in left eye and in 20/200 right eye. Example, I can see trees
and branches 50 feet away but I can't distenguish individual leaves. Two
years ago, I got into digital photography.

Why? One, I was going to go on an Alaskan cruise later that year. Two,
the price of a good camera with the resolution what I wanted was below
$500.

Benifits? After getting a camera, I quickly realized that photography was
going to be lots of fun! There are a couple really nice aspects when it
comes to going digital.

1) If I take a bad shot, I delete it and try again.
2) I can review the picture on the camera's LCD to roughly judge how I am
doing.
3) I no longer hear anyone say, "Don't waste film!"
4) I can put the images on my computer and take my time observing the
details that I previously missed.

I now have three cameras. One is a ultra compact camera that I keep with
me all the time. I have a relative high resolution ultra-zoom camera for
taking distance shots. I also have a lower resolution ultra-zoom camera
as a backup.

Are there others here that really enjoy photography? Does anyone know of
a mailing list for visually impaired photographers? I just think
photography to be a great tool for helping me see the world around me.
Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steven
