Hi to all. Because of recent Federal legislation, the FTC (Federal Trade
Commission) is in the process of creating a "Do Not Call" list for
telemarketers. From September 1, 2003 through August 31, 2008, telemarketers
by law are not by law supposed to call any of the numbers on this list. You
can have your name placed on the list either by Internet (works everywhere
now) or telephone (for states west of the Mississippi River, including
Minnesota and Louisiana--states east of the Mississippi should have phone
access by July 7). Visually impaired and otally blind people are encouraged
to phone, though I was able to fill out the Internet form and send back the
required E-mail easily using Windowbridge, and I could also have easily done
it with my demonstration copy of JAWS. For more information on this list,
please visit the FTC at http://www.ftc.gov. The direct link to register
(read and follow the instructions carefully on this site) is
http://donotcall.gov.
That's it for now. To all, take care.
Ted Chittenden
