I find that I can get JAWS started after a sighted person has shut it off by 
going to the Start menu with control+escape (or the Windows key), pressing J 
(or perhaps J more than once if the version of JAWS that I want isn't the 
first one listed), and then pressing enter (or maybe pressing enter twice).

What she could do is, take the actual icon for jaws and if it's not on the desktop, put it there, then when the computer starts up, just hit the letter j and press enter to start jaws.
