Hi Kristina,

thanks, I'm particularly interested in food allergies and intolerances,
and I like to hear people's experiences.

I confess that I'm still undecided about the 'leaky gut' hypothesis. I'm
completely convinced that such things as grains and dairy produce a range
of symptoms in many people, but I'm unsure about the mechanisms involved.

The bloating you describe as a reaction to the subfractions of dairy
products, sounds very like one of the symptoms of IBS which I get with
gluten. Not a trace of IBS after 48 hours of going paleo. <g>

I was interested in what you said about staying off dairy for some time
and then only having mild symptoms after eating butter. In the past I used
to give up gluten-containing foods for months at a time, and found after
four months or so, I could get away with eating a cake or pie without
symptoms as long as I went straight back to my diet afterwards. If I ate
gluten again the following day, all the IBS symptoms would return with a
vengeance!

Our bodies are strange and wondrous things ;-)

Cheers,

Persephone
