Hi Theola
I missed William's email but I would say that the standard Candian way of
pronouncing the word is the same as the American way - although to be
truthful I have't heard too many people say the word in the first place. Its
pronounciation is similar to the word paleontology which also uses the hard
"A" ("ay") and hard "E: ("ee"). Other softer As would make it sound British,
to my (Canadian) ears.
