Hello Nicole - I live in Point Richmond (also near SF, in what's called the North
Bay), and I have lived in or around the city for pretty much most of my life. I
stopped eating fish caught anywhere in local waters in 1979, and none of the
minimal clean-up efforts since have convinced me to change my mind, so you
might reconsider local fish.

We do have really wonderful free-range organically raised chicken around here - my
favorites are the Rosie and ROcky line, or the ones from Trader Joes. I also have
found Neiman Ranch beef to be quite acceptable, though not nearly up to the
standard I was raised on (totally grass-fed, pastured beef, slaughtered at home
every fall...) and similarly raised pork, which I have not found available at all.

best of luck

Molly
