OPPRESSED AND EXPLOITED PEOPLES AND TO OUR BOY PRESIDENT FOR THE INDEPENDENCE
ANNIVERSARY.
PLEASE MAKE USE OF THIS DOCUMENT TO RAISE THE LEVEL OF CONSCIOUSNESS OF OUR

JAMMEH THE DICTATOR ISSUES ONE WAY TICKET FOR GAMBIA
---------------------------
(FROM KOUKOIE SAMBA SANYANG’S DIARY)
Another futile celebration without pride for the historic date for Gambians
the Independence Anniversary celebrations the 18th of February is due and we
here witness Gambians have
achieved nothing for their real and genuine emancipation, freedom, justice
and the rule
of law.
I ask Gambians which way for the Gambia and Gambians headed by an embezzler
with a deserved reputation as a ruthless opportunist and an authoritarian
thief and terrorist.
We are called to adopt a strategy which will aim to advance the Gambian
state by bringing key national and international stakeholders and build
Opportunities for growth and prosperity in the Gambia.
We need business leaders and a government society to fine tune the Gambian
engine to run at full throttle to create something of enduring value within
the context of our impermanence.
We have to fight the culture of silence among Gambian Intellectuals and with
all means and possibilities create an opportunity to adjust and enhance our
strategies to identify new initiatives for an exclusive and very effective
Environment for government and business networking.
I strongly believe that the Gambia is a unique country, which demands a
unique
Approach to strategic thinking.
To rescue sinking Gambia we need to adopt a practical workable programmed for
The Dalasis revival and adopting a crisis Prevention Strategy and crisis
Resolution Strategy to achieve the following.
1/ Unity of action and purpose.
2/ Freedom from mental slavery and the adoption of the attitude of monkey
See monkey do, or parrot hear parrot repeat.
3/ To be masters of our own destiny
4/ Good governance and the rule of law.
5/ Accelerating poverty reduction and strengthening sustainable Gambian
economic growth.
6/ Mercilessly combating corruption, laisser-fairisme, exclusion and
discrimination.
7/ Create a society that will never violate the standards of its moral
integrity by adopting
and consolidating Democratic institutions through accountability, probity,
and transparency.
8/ Free market economy and a distributive justice system.
9/ Independent Judiciary system
10/ Respect for human rights and administrative justice. etc, etc, etc.
In order for the Gambia to polish its image for the future we need to look
back to her past history.
A DESPERATE HUMAN STORY
-------------------------------------------
A careful reading of Gambian history suggests that we badly need committed
fearless visionaries and significant educators who understands what is really
wrong in the Gambia and dare to share that understanding with the general
public.
The future of the Gambia lies in the hands of committed Intellectuals and
just leaders and they must be willing to seriously engage in a practical form
of political education and political mobilization that in a sense will be
Irritating to the centrist custodians of the status quo.
Unlike those theatrical parlance politicians they should be educators and
dedicated leaders to meaningfully reawaken Gambians to a sense of their own
capacity and leadership potential for political freedom, change and with
responsibility to partake of society's leadership needs.
Oh Intellectual educators and peoples leaders you have a major stake in
changing the Gambia by educating Gambians so you are called to adopt the
strategic consciousness-raising and clarification functions and programmes of our
society.
As we all know that the future is not and will not be shaped by evil leaders
and our
enemies who don't believe in the future.
I believe that the future will be built by educated conscious people who sees
the complexities that lies ahead since we will not be deterred by the
peoples
enemy because we are educators and dedicated leaders who are conscious of the
flaws in humankind but not overwhelmed by the doubts and anxieties of life
for we are people with the vitality to shape the future of our people and
dear country whatever the odds.
I believe that significant achievements will be brought about by responsible
Gambians
with at least a touch of irrational self-confidence.
Men and women of vitality have always been prepared to bet their futures,
even
their lives, on ventures of unknown outcome.
If they had all looked before they leaped, we would still be crouched in
caves
sketching animal and hunters pictures on the walls and caves.
Oh fellow Gambians we are in a crucial need of worthy sons and daughters who
will tell us what is right for Gambians that is acknowledging human
fallibility
but believe in oneself: acknowledging the complexity of today’s problems in
the
Gambia but still be prepared to act.
We Gambians don't need a President who is yearning for to be a nuclear-age
philosopher-king who can only lead our beloveth Gambian brothers and sisters
to generalized disappointment or even to the end of democracy, justice and
snatch away our freedom and rights.
One thing is certain and still valid that Jammeh is still a military ruler of
a Pinochet type who has something wrong with himself.
I strongly believe that if we bravely struggle for freedom, justice and the
rule of law we will be able to built a free society for Gambians based
explicitly on free competition, most particularly competition in ideas and
opinions and by frank discussion of alternative national purpose and goals.
One thing is very important for concerned responsible Gambian educators in
particular and a vigorous press that must ceaselessly attack ignorance,
apathy
and mindless nationalism of a dominated nation the classic enemy of a true
democracy.
Our citizens must resist energetically sentimental and rhetorical patriotism
that espouses everything as a matter for top priority, but in practice
eschews
the tough political programmes that must be begun and implemented.
What is needed is a far more thoughtful way of looking at the leadership and
at citizens responsibilities.
The best global Insurance to prevent a criminal autocratic President in the
Gambia lies in investment in education, encourage open non conditional
brotherly dialogue, exposing evil deeds in the Gambia, and rigorous political
organisation in the renewal of our organisations and mass movements and in
the
strengthening of citizen-politic at all levels of society to blow away the
rhetoric and empty sloganeering.
My brothers and sisters I must clearly state that with President Jammeh our
National
Heritage is been destroyed and slowly perishing before our eyes so we cannot
remain indifferent.
President Jammeh's regime cannot free us from the colonial imposed imperfect
taste
of dictatorial governance by binding us to his neocolonial autocratic
imperfect taste of dictatorship without denying the principle of freedom upon
which our society is built that is diversity and liberty instead of
conformity
oppression and restraint.
THE DARK UNDER BELLY OF THE PLIGHT OF THE GAMBIAN PEOPLE
________________________________________________________
Looking through the Democratic myopia one can arrive at the conclusion that
Gambians don't have a democracy of the people but a Jammeh special-interest
democracy.
To construct a genuine and lasting democracy we have to agree that our
decisions and actions must shape our Gambian African world of Freedom and
Justice.
Misguided and surrounded by his own enemies who are the worst enemies of
Gambians who wrongly advise him in defence of their egoist interest President
Jammeh with vast unlimited powers at his disposal is cut off from reality
and his power is inevitably misused.
Today with Gambian politics clearly there is need for the people, the media
and our laws each in its own ways, functions, and duties to work hard to
greatly lessen both the power and the aura of divine right that now wrongly
surrounds President Jammeh.
The concentration of so much powers in the hands of President Jammeh has come
to be seen as a source of problems in the Gambian society.
Seen the complexities of all these problems what judgment can be reached
about the accountability of President Jammeh?
How can the Gambian people hold President Jammeh answerable to all the crimes
his antidemocratic government commits against humanity, abuses of power
misuse
of public funds, abuse of human rights suppression of free Press and free
speech, murder, intimidation and violence?
With Jammeh's State terrorist regime the Gambian oppressed and exploited
peoples have no means by which in a democratic manner influence, overrule,
or
even remove this irresponsible regime with an absence of clear goals.
Within the Gambian context accountability free of influence or dictation
implies not only responsiveness to majority desires and answerability for
actions but also taking the people and their views into account.
It should also imply a performance guided by integrity.
What our beloveth Gambians need is that important decisions that will shape
their lives and future should be explained to them to allow them the rear
opportunity to appraise how well Jammeh their President is handling his
responsibilities.
Jammeh's arbitrary rule and dishonesty has denied Gambians their fundamental
rights and an opportunity to construct their country.
As Jammeh's regime moves into its lame-duck phase due to the lack of fore-
thought behind his infantile foolery, wickedness, arrogance and pride which
in fact is a reflection in some serious conceptual weakness and misguidance.
Misguided Jammeh's behaviour and actions are questionable and his multiple
goals are in partial conflict with one another.
In a strict sense, in fact Jammeh's government is always Jammeh's government
and a few hypocrites who are accommodated and those paid terrorists who
wickedly uphold his regime.
Our concern here is that Jammeh's tamed government operates in the name of
Jammeh by Jammeh and for Jammeh so it is not by nature alert and responsive
to the views and interest of the general public.
Here it is a question of how President Jammeh and acolytes will win to
oppress
the Gambian masses and how the oppressed will triumph over injustice.
The public and their representatives are not given a chance to evaluate
President Jammeh's priorities if really they exist, his evil deeds, his
greed,
his unchallenged power to oppress, to exploit, to murder, to intimidate and
give their views.
Today in the Gambia substantial controversy exists over the extend to which
Jammeh's cruelty and inhumanity shapes our destiny.
With all these ills Jammeh cannot and can never guarantee justice, freedom
or wisdom and impact on our lives.
Today Gambians are forced to devise a defined task for workable and
purposeful
adjustment of the conflicting interests.
Fellow Gambians let us be serious to note and acknowledge that today
President
Jammeh is a captive of his own evils, deficiencies, self-centeredness, greed,
arrogance, pride that serves no purpose, lack of a genuine political ability
as
he plunders our wealth, embezzles public funds, theft, corruption, and
misuse
of public funds with impunity.
Jammeh's acts which are or would be indictable as the worst criminal offenses
and abuses of office and power or breach of trust and violation of our
constitution constituting criminal acts are well documented.
What Yaya Jammeh is doing for Gambians defies human imagination so if Gambian
politicians are genuinely interested in the struggle for Freedom and Justice
Democracy and the rule of law, they should avoid the "blame-the others"
tactics.
We have to understand that Jammeh is a wallflower leader and nothing
different
can come from him or out of him.
Alarm bells should be ringing in Banjul, throughout the country and
worldwide to alert on Jammeh’s holy war against Free speech, Free Press and the rule
of law that conjures up images of the “NIA” The Notorious Injustice Agency
breaking the law with impunity.
In the Gambia today the “Pinochet Option” of dirty tricks to bring down or
eliminate freedom loving peoples is being institutionalized as a policy
The open killings of political opponents and journalists (the roots to
consolidate our Democracy), arbitrary arrests and detentions without fair trials,
and politically motivated disappearance of Gambians perceived by Jammeh and
cohorts as anti-Jammeh is now part of the NIA's doctrine and is been exercised.
For Jammeh these activities as he assured the NIA criminal agents will be
conducted without any judicial oversight.
Terrrorising the people, intimidation, killings, arrests and abuse of human
rights will be executed to further Jammeh’s agenda of according to him why he
too should not wickedly rule over the Gambia, oppress and exploit the
Gambian peoples for thirty (30) years like Sir D.K.JAWARA a natural right as he
claims.
For me as a Freedom fighter this represents a seismic shift on policy “we
are made to believe at the initial stages of Jammeh’s style revolution that
Freedom, Justice and the rule of law will be the order of the day but in actual
fact it is a Machiavellian rationale where the end justifies the means.
This makes utter nonsense to the belief that President Jammeh will ever
engage constructively with the Gambian people after he has given unlimited powers
and rights to these NIA criminal and mad dogs of torture and assassination.
I call to the conscience of Gambian responsible politicians, intellectuals
and concerned citizens that there are many methods and strategies to be
deployed in the struggle against Jammeh’s regime but the most important one is
TRUST and STRATEGIC ALLIANCES.
We should be aware that if Jammeh’s neocolonial regime that tolerates dirty
tricks been carried out in its name and blessings with impunity across the
Gambia does little to enhance or earn the goodwill of either his supporters and
collaborators.
THIS IS WHY ALARM BELLS SHOULD BE RINGING IN BANJUL AND WORLDWIDE.
In our struggle to promoting Democracy in the Gambia, our emphasis should be
naturally centered on Liberty, Freedom, Justice Democracy, the Rule of Law
and Dignity for Gambians.
Our common interest should be built on candid cooperation and constructive
relationships that will embrace our common interests but still recognizing our
considerate differences about policies and values.
We have to bear in mind that it will be very hard for dictator Jammeh to
digest any attempts for a tactical and strategic alliances to oust him from
power.
Instead of Gambian politicians trying to neutralize each other in their
struggle for power we have to note now they have no other choice or option but to
expand our mutual engagement which will inevitably lead to Jammeh’s
downfall.
As serious people who care for the future of Gambians we have to demonstrate
to dictator Jammeh that no right-minded Gambian man, woman and child wants to
live under tyranny.
No Gambian would like to be deprived of his/her free speech and free
movements, we all aspire to.
Gambian politicians should be aware that with dictator Jammeh deeply
entrenched in power spreading and building democracy throughtout the Gambia is not
like spraying perfume or fragrance.
Solid non conditional dialogue, understanding and empathy are required.
I am sure that Gambians don’t need a "Yes Sir Cabinet" “At your orders Sir
NIA" "No Argument Sir Parliament "but rather to take the path of real
judgment within the framework of a dialogue not a monologue.
Watch out again, the people’s enemy will be out there to tell you don’t
listen to KOUKOIE SAMBA SANYANG or KOUKOIE should be arrested.
As a freedom fighter with integrity I believe that we have to stimulate our
dear peoples imagination never to let them swallow every nonsense that comes
their way or to their ears.
In order for us to build a free democratic Gambian society we must be
dedicating our energies to promoting the maximum development of the Gambian
individual.
I believe that it is our mission to reveal to our beloveth people in more
than a superficial way some of the relevant and hidden facts about President
Jammeh’s life which must be taken into serious account in assessing our wisdom
of proposed changes and help at the same time world opinion and true democrats
world wide to discover the true face of the Gambian dictator misleading the
nation.
As mass conscientization is an essential component of our national purpose I
believe we have to awaken the sleeping creative genius of our dear Gambian
peoples because only those who are liberated mentally can have the range of
vision and action necessary to create.
Oh fellow Gambians how can we stop dreaming and wishful thinking and begin to
built a lasting Peace, Justice Freedom, Unity, Democracy and the Rule of Law
in the Gambia?
TO BEGIN MY DEAR FELLOW GAMBIAN CITIZENS WE SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE AND BE AWARE
THAT IT IS NO USE TALKING TO SOMEONE WHO HAS FORGOTTEN HOW TO LISTEN.
That which is demanded of all Gambians is to struggle for an ideal Government
for the people and by the people.
This ideal government must be in a position to combine the principles of
both Justice and mercy.
For me Justice means equity, impartiality and the unerring application of an
inexorable law. As for Justice in the other face of the coin it means to
treat every man and woman as he/she deserves.
While Mercy means to treat man and woman better than he/she deserves.
We have to note that our present day leaders have failed in their mission
and the politicians who wish to change the status quo give our people answers
to remember rather than workable strategies to solve existing problems.
Far from being a mercenary or a rebel as many people label me to be but
rather a freedom loving person for freedom, justice, democracy and the rule of
law I would like people to understand me that I am not the least flattered or
moved by the sugarcoated speeches of Jammeh’s opponents.
I very much value their words but I am very suspicious of their contents and
meaning full of rhetoric for they carry less weight for possible
implementation to free our oppressed peoples.
JAMMEH’S SPEECHES FULL OF BEAUTIFUL MELODY JUST SWEET ENOUGH TO ENTERTAIN
THE PUBLIC AND LULL TO SLEEP THE HYPOCRITES ARE TO BE EXPOSED NEVER TO BE
ACCOMMODATED IN OUR PEOPLES MINDS AND THINKING.
MY MESSAGE TO THE GAMBIAN INTELLECTUALS WORKING TO FREE OUR PEOPLE FROM
MENTAL SLAVERY MUST BE THAT TO WORK HARD TO CONSCIENTIAE AND REDRESS PUBLIC
OPINION GIVING THE PEOPLE POSITIVE THINKING AND HABITS THAT WILL FIX THEIR
BEHAVIOUR TO GOALS WHICH WILL FIT WITH SOCIAL NECESSITY RESOLVING THE NEGATIVE
WITHIN GAMBIAN SOCIETY.
My message to President Jammeh is that the dead do not praise Allah, they
rather go to Him in silence. It is only those who are alive who can praise and
glorify Allah.
Mr. President treat our people as if they ought to be, and you help them to
become what they are capable of being to allow them at least praise and
glorify Allah.
Our people hope for a better future which is like a road in the country,
there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into
existence.
We should allow our people to take out of our country more than what the
so-called leaders take out of her
WE SHOULD RESTRUCTURE OUR FATHERLAND TO CREATE MEN AND WOMEN OF INTEGRITY,
HONESTY AND PRIDE.
