Apparently several months ago I must have mentioned on the list I wanted a
12 string guitar. I haven't played a 12 string for 30 years and I haven't
played a 6 string for probably 7 or 8 years because I gave my 6 string
guitar to my oldest son. I really don't recall mentioning my desire on the
list but Vicki says I did. Anyhow, just before Christmas, John and Vicki
came over one night. I was sitting in the living room and John lays this
heavy guitar case on my lap. I was totally blown away when I found what was
inside. I also learned a couple of people on the list assisted in
information about purchasing a guitar. So, I have been playing a little bit
at a time. For one thing, I even had to learn how to tune it again and Brad
helped me with that. As I said, I haven't played a 12 string for 30 years
and I could not recall how to tune one of those. Then, I broke a string,
had to replace that, and finally got down to business of relearning. I
haven't played for so long, my left hand has trouble stretching for cords
and of course my finger tips are very sore right now. It sure is nice,
though, to have a nice sounding 12 string guitar. I never played that well
before but maybe now I can get into it even more. Every time I take it out
of the case and sit down with it to play, I still am amazed I had one given
to me by Vicki and John. I'm very thankful for it. I just wish I could
play it better.

Phil.
