actually it was not exorbidant, but, it still may have
cost as much as she paid for the player. i saw one on
sale somewhere at $32.00. dvd players can be cheap as
are vcrs now. the expenive electronics now is the dvd
recorders. i would not suggest buying those until the
standards are worked out. a few of us are old enough
to remember that you could buy a vcr that was a
betamax or you could buy one that was a vhs. if you
bought betamax, you got to buy again later becouse all
the movies were on vhs.
now there are not only uncertainty with recording
formats, but also on weather to buy a red laser or
blue lazer dvd recorder. it is all very confusing to
this old geezer who finds it hard to keep up, much
less guess which technology will win out.
if your fiance has any word of wisdom in this
emerging techmologies, some of us would find it
interesting to hear from an insider.
thanks to all that replied. as i said i was told
"you are the man, make it work."
