well, both machines are now getting out. it took
talking to 3 people at the router manufacturers tech
service group to figure it out.

shot to the point, bellsouth, my isp, had told me to
configure with PPPoE protocol. we finally found one
person at linksys who started with a different
protocol and within 30 minutes, the master machine was
woring, 10 minutes after that the 2nd machine was
working.

the isp employees had given me bad information. of all
people they should have known.
