1 note: apparently it's seasonings which contain gluten, in potato chips.

2 more items:
 - "Dirty" potato chips are highly recommended by 2 people
    and http://www.dirtys.com/ indeed trumpets containing
no Wheat Gluten, MSG, hydrogenated oil, etc. - only Peanut oil (no
Canola)

 - Cape Cod Chips writes back to name their GF labels & point out others
with
    seasonings containing gluten

    AND they say:
We do wash and sanitize our equipment between production runs
of gluten free and gluten containing products.
    ! ! !
Caveat: the GF packaging etc. happens in the same room with the
Non-GF,
and there is therefore apparently a possibility of [slight]
contamination.

   GF:
Cape Cod No Salt, Salted, Golden Russet, Dark Russet and Reduced Fat
Potato Chips
   are gluten free.
The only ingredients are potatoes, oil and salt (except on the no
salt).

Cape Cod Sea Salt & Vinegar, Nantucket Spice and Jalapeno & Cheddar
Potato
  Chips are also gluten free.

  Not GF:
However, we do produce seasoned items, such as Firecracker Barbecue,
that do contain
gluten (the gluten is in the seasoning) at the same time ( on
different machines, in the same room).
Our unseasoned items are produced on the same packaging lines as the
seasoned items.
