I have tried that service. It's got potential, but I found it to be
unreliable as it crashed.

There is another competing service which my organization operates called Sun
Dial which does many of the same things. It too has had some reliability
problems. However, we will be introducing a brand new version called Sun
Dial II soon which will be much more robust, allow both telephone keypad and
voice navigation, support for media streaming and a number of other
innovations I cannot reveal as of yet. It will use AT&T speech which is
much better than either system employs now.

Stay tuned!

Bill

Subject: [VICUG-L] Internet by phone

Has anyone used this service, and if so, what do you think?

Voice Internet is here, NOW! Just Talk and Listen to the Internet using
any Phone and your Own Voice!
Imagine accessing the Internet without a computer, when you are on the go,
stuck in traffic, or just away from your computer?
Sounds like science fiction? Not any more.
How? Using InternetSpeech's netECHOR, the only voice Internet service to
give you access to the ENTIRE Web. No Computer is needed.
You can surf and browse any website, listen to and respond to your email,
search any word and much more - pretty much anything that you can do in a
computer with a visual browser, can now be done with any phone and your own
voice.

InternetSpeech brings Internet to you using the most natural user interface,
your voice and most ubiquitous device, a simple phone.

The rates are also very affordable -
Program A:
$12 per month, unlimited use. You call a Toll number in 408 area code.

Program B:
$21 per month. You call a Toll Free Number.
Includes 5 Hours of use. 5 Cents per minute for additional minutes (For US
and Canada).

There is a one time set up fee of $20 for both programs.

Just call 877-312-4638 or 408-532-8460 to know more and sign up.
