About 3 weeks ago I viewed a document from a diskette that was apparently
infected with something. After viewing, my virus program, MacAfee,
announced a quarantined file, I scanned etc and found nothing.

I began having problems.

I am running Windows 98 SE, Jaws 3.71 and IE5.5

IE needs constant repair.
Some of my settings in Windows have randomly changed including the "use
keypad as mouse" setting.

I have most settings reset, and the problem still persists with IE 5.5
despite a removal nd reinstallation.

I have removed nd reinstalled Jaws.

And here's a strange one,
if I use the control key for a command (e.g control/end to go to the bottom
of the page) Jaws says "control" combined with anyother function keystroke.
And, sometimes, quite randomly, it adds alt to what's spoken.

These even happen when typing (imagine the goble deegook I hear when
typing).

If I shut down and reboot, the problem goes away.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks,
