Subject: question about using fiberoptics for internet connection
Date: Thu, 6 Oct 2005 22:35:23 -0400

        Hi everyone,

I would like to thank everyone for all of your helpfulness on my question
concerning direct x. I have not gotten to install it and so forth yet, but
I hope to do that this coming weekend.

My question I would like to have help with right now is concerning
fiberoptics. Right now I use dsl from earthlink. Verizon has tried to
talk me into getting their fiberoptic service because it would be faster
than dsl and also cheaper than earthlink. I do not know anything about
this topic. We have a satellite dish and I am not real sure if that is
connected into the phone line or not. The person at Verizon that I talked
to said that someone would come out to my house and connect something or
other for the fiberoptics into the phone line. I do not know if that would
be a problem or not. Also I don't know if this connection would have any
affect on my adaptive equipment at all since I have no prior experience
with it. If anyone has any experience or advice or anything they could
share with me I would really appreciate it so that I could make a decision
about getting the fiberoptic service or not. Thanks a lot for your help.

Lisa

Hi Lisa and all,
Could whoever answers this question post to the list instead of to Lisa?
I would like to know the answer too. I'm thinking about getting DSL, but if fiberoptics is faster then I'd go with that instead.
Harry
