Steve,
there is no particular reason why a flat screen Tv should be more
or less accessible than any other idiot box.

so far I havn't seen a remote with a touch screen on it, that
would be a mess.

As for kiosks with touch screens, if you call the group and want
to actually suggest solutions , you should know that quite a bit
of prototype accessibility work with such systems has been done
by Greg Vanderheiden and his group at trace rehab center at the
univ of wisconsin http://www.trace.wisc.edu

but yes, most installed kiosks and such are not accessible. my
local grocery store, Albertsons, has installed a trial checkout
system with no clerks.  It talks but not enough, and requires
reading the display to get through the process.

I wouldn't use it anyhow because I hate all this use of
technology to put people out of work.
