Someone on this list suggested I disable my mouse touch pad on my notebook
computer to stop it from losing focus.  Well, guess what?  It worked!

I am most grateful to the lovely person who passed that little tip along.  I
have a disable button right at the top of my mouse pad, so ever since I
pressed that the problem is gone.
