Subject: [VICUG-L] Computer Problem

I am working with an individual using JAWS 5.0 with Windows 98.
Yesterday while downloading emails, his computer locked up halfway
through the process.

He proceeded to restart the computer, but JAWS did not run. After
another restart, JAWS began to operate again.

He is using AVG and I had him do a virus can, and the computer locked up
after approximately 10,000 files were scanned. I am thinking of having
him do Scandisk and Defrag and then I am thinking of putting Spybot or
AdAware on and checking for spy ware.

Any other thoughts/suggestions? thanks.
