Hi to all.

I don't know if this will help you or not, Judy, but I think it could help
Ilene.

After doing a couple of system restores on my Dell computer system with
Norton 2001 Antivirus software (it came when I purchased the system new in
late 2000) and Windows Millennium Edition, I noticed that I was having the
same problem you mentioned, Ilene; i.e. when I rebooted the computer, I
would have to press the Enter key for the reboot to complete.

A little investigation revealed that (and I don't yet know why) when I used
the System Restore function on some occasions, Norton's Auto-protect
function would quit working. According to the sighted person who assisted
me initially, the screen was asking me to OK the fact that that Norton's
auto-protect system wasn't working each time I rebooted the computer.

My solution? Since Norton 2001 came with my system and since Dell provides
a backup copy of Norton if I should have system problems, after any System
Restores I do now, if I have a rebooting problem, I completely remove and
then reinstall Norton on my system.

As I said, I don't know if it applies to your situation, Judy, but I do
think it might apply to Ilene's.

To all, take care.

Ted Chittenden
