Hi to all. This message appeared in my Junk Mail box, though I suppose it's
much better than most junk mail I've come across. At the moment, I have no
additional computers, but perhaps someone else on thist might. Jefferson
Public Radio (JPR) is a contingent of NPR-affiliated stations owned by the
University of Southern Oregon in Ashland, Oregon. Bessides being popular,
it should be noted that the 1998 Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA)
requires all webcasters (including public broadcasters) to post their
playlists in real-time, anyway. Anyway, if any of you have old laptops that
the radio network could use, it would be appreciated.

To all, take care.

Ted Chittenden

>Dear Ted,
>
>Over the past six months, Jefferson Public Radio has made a number of
>improvements to our website (www.jeffnet.org) in order to provide you
>with more useful and timely information. One of these changes has been
>to publish electronic versions of our music playlists on the web. The
>addition has proven very popular. In fact, the playlists are now among
>the busiest sections of our site.
>
>We are now preparing to post playlists real-time, that is, while the
>songs play. Until now, we have relied on older computers that do not
>require access to the internet. But as we prepare to post playlists in
>real-time, we will require internet-ready computers.
>
>And that's where you can help.
>
>Do you have a laptop computer you'd like to donate to JPR? Your
>contribution would be tax-deductible and would allow us to continue to
>develop new web services and content for your benefit.
>
>Due to our limited studio space, we are only able to use a laptop
>computer. It needs to be internet-capable, and be running a recent
>version of Microsoft Office. We don't need a brand new machine, but one
>not more than a few years old would be best.
>
>Thanks for all of your support and your consideration of this request.

>Sincerely,
