Plug & Play problems-
When hardware is installed in a computer, the first time the computer boots,
if Plug & Play is enabled bios will assign system resources to all installed
items. If an item is replaced or another item added, on reboot bios will
attempt to assign resources to that item. If the required resources are
already assigned to other items P&P won't recognize the new item.
When hardware changes are made, go into bios and chg the setting to yes to
Clear NVRAM, this is where the ESCD (Extended System Configuration Data) is
stored. Then when the computer boots the bios will assign or reassign system
resources to all installed hardware and the Clear nvram setting will be
automatically set back to no.
Hope this helps- Works for me.
