The
Global Afrikan Congress was formed on October 6th 2002 in Bridgetown,
Barbados at the historic Afrikan and Afrikan Descendants Conference Against
Racism. *
This Conference was a follow up to the 2001 United Nations World Conference
Against Racism in Durban, South Afrika, where 168 Nation States voted to
declare the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade as a crime against humanity.
The European Chapter of the Global Afrikan Congress, wishes to invite you to
our strategic planning meeting to be held from October 6th to 8th 2005 in
Berlin, Germany. One of the key mandates of the founding conference in
Barbados is that the Global Afrikan Congress must embark upon a mobilization
campaign to unite the Black World and to assist in the struggle for social
justice and economic development. It is therefore critically important that
a solid core of Black organizations and individuals become part of this
global process.
The 1st bi-annual Pan Afrikan GAC (Europe) gathering was held in Rotterdam,
Netherlands from the 3rd to 5th October, 2003. It was a three day intensive
multi-pronged critical analysis of the diverse challenges faced by people of
Afrikan origin in Europe to improve their fortunes and and challenge present
social conditions.
The Europe gathering brings together Afrikans in Europe and beyond, and is
held one
year between our bi-annual international congress. The last congress was
held in
October 2004 in South America, in the city of Paramaribo, Surinam.
Language
The official language of the conference will be English.
