Hello sister Jabou,
The final document of the petition will pick the points that we were trying
to put across, namely, the release Waa Juwara. Perception (a fascination of
mine) can, indeed, be everything. Thanks for the observation.
At the time of thinking and writing about our response to the arrest and
jailing of Waa, "generic" anything was the farthest thing from our minds.
Knowing what has happened to dozens of opposition party members whilst in
jail - a life and death matter - did not allow us time to think how this
petition will be perceived. We will, however, keep the lesson from your
observation in mind, not in the event that someone else's life and liberty
are at the mercy of a few, but in any other situation that requires
signatures as a sign of supporting action.
Regards,
Soffie
