I think the way they figure it is that a Jewish day was from sunset to
sunset.  So Thursday sunset to Friday sunset is one day, Friday sunset to
Saturday sunset is two days, and Saturday sunset to Sunday sunset is three
days, and Jesus rose on the third day.
