OOH!
You've got to try this recipe.
Simple and wonderful!
I used the crescents which come in the tube or can like biscuits.
Man! They're good!

Crescent Apple Dumplings

2 packages refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 medium apples
1/4 cup butter (1 stick)
1/4 cup white sugar
1 cup white sugar (additional)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (12 oz) can Mountain Dew or other citrus flavored soft drink

1. Peel and core apples. Cut each into eight wedges.*** Toss in the 1/4 cup
white sugar. (Some fruit-fresh can be added to the sugar to keep apples from
turning dark.)*** my addition***
2. Unwrap crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Wrap each apple
wedge in a crescent roll. Try to fit the dough around the slice, but it's ok
if the apple wedge isn't completely covered. Place in a 9x13 pan that has
been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
3. In small saucepan, melt margarine. Stir in sugar and cinnamon. Cool
slightly. (Can be done in the microwave.) Pour over rolls. NOTE: At this
point you can cover and refrigerate the rolls overnight.
4. To bake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour Mountain Dew over the rolls.
(If time permits, bring the pan back to room temperature before baking..but
will do just fine baked cold.) Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
