Paul,
I hope that you're right. What chris is having trouble dealing with, is
learning that he really has some delayed development in his frontal lobe.
He spent last night making some derisive comments about his dead brain
or, that his brain is that of a six year old. I think that it is just
his way of dealing with the news. What Eric told Chris, is that there
are ways of learning to compensate. He can still learn to controll his
impulses and his anger. In other words, he has no excuse for hhis
behavior. Greg and I have been talking and even after the three
sessions, when he gets his stuff back, we may still have a bargaining
chip because Chris really wants to learn to drive, but there is no way,
at his present level of maturity, that he is a good candidate for
learning how to drive. Can you say road rage anyone. Our prayer,
however, is that Chris will learn that he is better for going through
this process, that it isn't just for us, but for him.
In Him,
Kathy
