Hi Terri,
As for why Adobe is a pain, I can't say those things in polite
company.

So far the best solution for PDF is use of OCR even if it isn't
really necessary.  either one of the "blind' systems, or Omnipage
for a deal less money.

Omnipage usually, and i say usually with emphasis, does a pretty
good job on tables.

there is no consistant access solution for PDF files that provides
stable predictable results!

the real reason, without the explitives, is that PDF''s intent is
to make form entirely overwhelmingly override content at any
cost.

And it does that.
