Anyway, older HP Pavilion 8380.  Spilled Dr. Pepper on keyboard.  Was not sure exactly what to do, and was in no position to send a question to the list!  So, I gave it a good rinse in the sink.  Well, that was last night.  Tried to dry it off with a fan, but not sure how effective that was as there still seemed to be some water dripping out the bottom when I tipped it on its side.  Plugged it in today and I slowly got ";;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;" (I would keep going, but I don't think you'd appreciate that) across the screen.  Tried to play with the ";" key, but no change.  Could not use any other key.

So, the questions are:

Will this problem resolve itself?  (I am airing the keyboard out in front of a fan.)

Can I (should I) disassemble the keyboard from the bottom to dry things out, or will parts spring out all over the place like a gaggle of tiny jack-in-the-boxes?

Should I have rinsed the keyboard out?

I have another keyboard I can use (this post proves it, right?) but the original has some features specific to the computer that I don't want to give up.  So, where to from here?  Anybody have any experience with this?  (I actually read somewhere from what I consider a reputable source that an option with a "dead" keyboard is to run it through the dishwasher.  What do you have to lose?)
