Dear List,

I am so glad to have found this site. I have learned much from here. I have a
problem, and I'm hoping that somebody can help me. I am just telling you
what happened, I'm not criticizing or condemning anyone, I just need some help.

I live in California in the upper desert. I have bought bread from
Food-4-Life, also in California, (about 1 1/2 hour drive away - down Cajon Pass) direct
or through the local health food store, for a long time. It is normally
"Yummy." It's gluten free, egg free and sugar free (fruit juice sweetened), the
only problem is: it has no preservatives......

I called them, I ordered over the telephone, it was $24. something with the
shipping through UPS for 6 loaves of Raisin Pecan Bread. Without shipping, it
is $17. something. For some reason, UPS didn't deliver it to me the next day,
like they had just a month before... It was baked on a Monday, I got it
Wednesday, at 6 PM at night... They took two days to deliver it, in over 60*
weather, kept in a big brown truck..

Just as soon as I got it, I kept one loaf in the refrigerator, and I put the
rest in the freezer immediately. I could feel that there was a problem....
When I opened it, it was definitely hard. I called UPS, they said that it was a
ship at your own risk company, and that there was no guarantee...... I called
Food-4-Life, 3 times, I could only leave a message on their answering
machine... and I emailed them... No response.. I tried another day, the line kept
being busy... The next day I finally got a real live person, I explained what had
happened, and she said that she would check with UPS to see why it took so
long for them to deliver it. I never heard another word from her or anyone else
about it. It's been 2 week's now.

I learned an expensive lesson, I am having to pour hot water on it just to be
able to eat it. It was too expensive to just throw away.. I don't ever want
to have this experience again...

Now here's what I need help with... Even when I buy the bread at the health
food store, it is rather "tough," I don't think that the distributor keeps it
frozen..
I don't care for Energy products..and there again, I would have to depend on
UPS to deliver it...

Is there anyone out there who knows of a recipe for Gluten free, sugar free,
and egg free bread? Cookies?

The only experience that I can remember baking my own bread was that it
tasted like rubber...

Can somebody please help me?

Thank you,
Jerri
