Dear Friends,

Thank you for your many responses. Most were very friendly. I will summarize
soon. It became clear to me that some people had not read the articles
(which are very brief) below, so I thought that I would include them here in
the body of the letter for greater visibility.

In short, if you eat oats and have no reaction, wonderful! I was simply
trying to help those people who may be hearing that "oats are safe" and yet
they are getting a definite reaction to eating oats. Some people report this
even when they eat the reportedly uncontaminated oats.

Again, I suggest the possibility that at least some celiac are reacting to
the uncontaminated oats themselves and not to wheat contamination in the
oats.
