A number of techs that I have talked to believe that computers, at least
desktops should be left on if possible. They contend that every time you
turn on the computer it "shocks" the circuits. Similar to flipping a light
switch, the micro switches in a circuit suffer more stress from the surge
than the potential heat factors of leaving the units on.
