I bought a Sony Vaio computer in April which came with a 90 day Norton
Internet Security. Even before the trial version expired NIS started acting
a bit wonky but now it is running but just barely and it won't let me
uninstall the pig. When I attempt to deep six it I get this message:
A Norton Internet Security account with supervisor access must be logged in
to uninstall this product. If NIS isn't running, Glick the start menu,
Select NIS and log in. Setup will now exit.
It has affected my computer mightily as I first noticed being denied access
to any secure sights like my bank and credit card sites. It has also made
it so I can't purchase anything via the net as well. I assume the firewall
is doing this sometime after it flipped out!
My computer is a Sony Vaio RS 510 running Widows XP Home...2.8 Ghz Pentium
4 w HT Technology...512 MB memory... 120 GB Hard Drive...DVD-RW/CD-RW
Hope this is enough info to help. Right now to download like 399 E mail
messages takes 30 minutes instead of the usual less than a minute. The
browser takes minutes to pull up a site if it allows me access to the site
at all. I am using a QWest DSL line. Anyway I hope someone has an idea or
two!! Thanks. Later.Mike
