Conteh, yes, an injustice to any Gambian is an injustice to all Gambians.
Both Baba and Yaya have committed murders and theft against Gambians and
both should be in jail. Baba is in now, by his own creation and Yaya will
follow. Baba had an opportunity to implicate his partner in crime, Yaya, as
he was going down, but the sycophancy in him naively convinced him to
continue to peddle the party line - "I am still a loyal supporter of Yaya
and the APRC". In short, he assisted with his injustice, for even as he
went down he treated Gambians with contempt and side with friend/enemy.
However, there is good news in all this circus. The people of Jara,
sycophants, Gambians in denial, and APRC blind supporters can now relate to
what Jammeh really stands for. The nation is bankrupt, while Yaya continues
to accumulate resources he continues to steal from Gambians. They can
barely afford to eat a decent meal, while Yaya is feasting on their hunger;
They are hopeless, while Yaya continues to abuse them both physically and
mentally for being lazy; and on and on. Starting with the people of Jara,
the Gambian revolution is maturing. The people of Jara must use the
opportunity presented in the up coming bi-elections to sound the alarm to
Yaya and the APRC by a resounding defeat of their candidate. This is not
the time to be scared, but a time to stand up. If they don't, Yaya's agenda
is to arrest the "who is who" among them and marginalized the entire voting
region. That is in line with his dictatorship tendencies - finish you off.
The Alternative is presented with a perfect launching pad in Jara. If the
bi-elections could be scheduled within 90 days as noted earlier, what is the
Alternative doing? Are they talking? I hope this is not going to turn into
one of their "tactical study of the situation" slumbers. I say the
Alternative should start now and be visible with their intensions. The
fight starts with the voter registration roll and I hope they represent this
time. Gambians cannot wait to join you.
