Hi!
Sad and worrying but reliable reports have reached me that the fall-out from yesterday's encounter has continued off the pitch and that some Gambian fans have been killed in Dakar.
It is also being reported that Gambians back home have been on the rampage, attacking Senegalese residents and destroying their properties. It could not be confirmed if there have been any deaths of Senegalese in The Gambia.
Meanwhile security forces on both sides of the boarder are said to be out en force trying to quench the disturbances.
I just got off the phone to Banjul where I was told the atmosphere is quite tense and the situation very uncertain. Let's all pray that the situation does not degenerate any further.
Regards,
Kabir.
