TO answer your question JEff, 220 is virtually dead where I lived in
southern Iowa and here in NEw Orleans.
I recall there being a 220 machine in the Des MOines area with lots of
remote bases which was also a 440 machine. IN southern Iowa I knew
two people a husband and wife who used 220 simplex.
HEre in NEw Orleans there's one 220 machine that I know of and from
what I've heard it has serious audio problems and is down more than
it's up.
Haven't bothered with the band myself as it's so sparsely populated.
