Hi,
I am running windows xp home on a new dell and have started having a problem of the cd roms not refreshing them selves when a new disk is inserted. I have a lite on and a tdk burner on this machine. sometimes! when i open the drive and insert a new disk the machine will not see it! not the virus scan programs or the f5 key or the refresh from the menu. The only way I can then use the drive is log off and back on, That solves the problem. I can burn from nero to the drive while in this state. in other words Nero sees it but windows says insert cd, I do and it says it again until I log off then back on. By the way this machine is tweaked for speed.
Any ideas, the knowledge base did not help! I did fined a post about it on a tech site but they wanted money to see the answer.
Jerry
