I keep hearing this, but I can always tell what my CPU temp will
be by adding 15*C to the room temp in (C*)...
Right now I am running 25*C room and 40* CPU and am allowed
85*C-90*C... Comparable Intel speeds are only allowed
to run at (all temps max) 70*C-75*C.
Intel's are internally protected, but a good MB will monitor the fan
on an AMD and shut it down too...
I think this has taken on the status of an Urban Legend...
(I do have a big case, and front and rear extra fans, but one of
those is really for the hard drive bay as much as anything else...
(Feel a modern HD lately after it had been running awhile?)
