A few months ago, Smithsonian had an article about the many centenarians
in--where was it?--Nova Scotia, I think.  Quite a point was made that they
weren't particularly health conscious re: diet and exercise.  In fact, they
loved to eat and especially enjoyed lots of sugary desserts.  Another
commonality was that they had a kind of spirited zest for enjoying life.

I think attitude has a lot to do with longevity.
