Well, I got so excited about the Frito Lay site and the listing of all the
products I cannot have that I missed the most important part. I must have
been reading about peanuts or one of the other allergies where it declared
that it would be listed on the package if it was made on shared lines. I
thought that it was all the products. When I went to the list that said
gluten free products, I did not scroll down to the bottom where it said that
gluten free products ARE made on lines with gluten containing products.
I also must have misinterpreted the statement that said that they do not use
flour on their lines. That is not a big compensation when they share lines
that contain gluten.
Therefore, it turns out that I cannot eat anything that Frito-Lay makes
because I am very sensitive to gluten.
Thank you to all of you who wrote and corrected me and pointed out the note
at the bottom of the page. I guess this is another learning experience for
me to read the fine print.
I called the company to confirm this information and the woman who I spoke
to was very nice. She said that so many people call in about the gluten
shared lines that she is hoping that the company will soon listen to the
callers, and arrange to have gluten free product on dedicated lines. I am
so sorry for the misinformation
