Thanks to so many who responded to my question about why one should have
a biopsy if the diet seems to "fix" everything. Of the nearly 50
responses, the vast majority felt that testing was not necessary if the
diet worked. A few suggested that having a definite diagnosis would make
them more likely to stay on the diet, especially if they were among
those who don't have marked symptoms. A couple said that they would not,
based on the fact that they had had their children officially diagnosed
by biopsy and now were unable to get life insurance for these kiddos.
Several said they would get the biopsy in for their insurance. I presume
so they could get referrals to GI docs. Thanks for your input.
