  This is one of the things I love about version 4.x of Pegasus email
client.  By default, it comes up in a mode (which I believe can be turned
off, but I don't want to!) where external references like this are not
retrieved.
  (It also adds a convenient "Raw view" of the full message with headers,
ideal for copying and pasting to a tool like http://spamcop.net .)
