Chris,
They're called "no pest strips."  They are kind of a sticky piece of
rubber that hangs from the ceiling in a protective box with holes in it.
The flies are supposed to be attracted to the smell on the strip, go to
it and then get stuck to it.  Of course, the sticky stuff is really
poison.  They can be kind of dangerous, I guess if they are hung in a
room that is poorly ventilated.  For blind people, they are easier to use
than a fly swatter though.
