spoke too soon in my last message; i did have to restart to get out of demo
mode, and indeed there was no speech but i was also uninstalling the old
version at the same time so don't know what to blame this on; so what I did
was just press enter and then go to the desktop, by minimizing using windows
key m, and press J and enter, and all was well.
