Why putz around with these two media players when there is winamp.  with
Winamp, creating a playlist is a snap.  you can even turn an album folder
into a playlist in seconds.  install winamp and give it a try.  it is fully
accessible and really blind friendly.

BTW:  I first ripped CD's using the default CDEX structure you described.  I
re-configured this in CDEX so it creates one folder titled with the artist
followed by the album name.
