Don't know if any of this information will help shed light on the problem.
I also got the message from a "Jody". Norton didn't pick it up, but: (1)
there was no text in the message body; (2) there was an attachment called
"Smoke.cpl"; (3), that was all I needed to know...bang, immediately smacked
"shift delete" to get rid of the message and attachment forever...god
willing.
Now, when Jody Ianuzzi posts to vicug-l, the full name "Jody W Ianuzzi"
appears before the bracketed "vicug-l", followed by the subject text.
However, the message without text in the body and with the "Smoke.cpl"
attachment just had the name "Jody" in the "from" field. Hence, I infer that
it wasn't sent from Jody W Ianuzzi's customary "vicug-l" account.
The larger question is, in the wake of the recent "meadlark" nonsense, list
administrator / owner, Mark Senk, indicated that he was going to review all
posts before allowing them to go to the list, so I'm not sure how the
"Smoke.cpl" post (without message text) got by him. Didn't mean for that to
sound like a put-down; thank you, Mark, for all you do; list administration
can be a thankless job, and I know we've all benefited from the knowledge
sharing that goes on here.
All I can tell you guys is: "be vigilent as hell."
John
