Hi Judy:

If memory serves, when this happens, it means that a CMOS setting has been
changed, so, assuming that your visual status is such that you're
"screen-reader dependent", you're going to have to have this problem fixed
by a sighted individual. I don't exactly remember where on the CMOS screen
the "password" option is, but I'm pretty sure it's there and obvious. I
believe the fix will be obvious to a sighted user who can see the CMOS
screen before any programs load. I don't believe "system restore" fixes or
addresses any CMOS reconfigurations, which is why that strategy did not help
you.
